Our Story
We're doctors who've seen both sides of nursing recruitment. We've seen the value nurses bring, the impact of vacancies, and how challenging hiring can be. It's unnecessarily hard and unenjoyable for everyone involved.
The Problem
Nurses spend hours applying to roles, rarely hear back, and have zero control over the process. Job boards are overwhelming. Applications are repetitive. The whole experience is soul-crushing.
Meanwhile, employers are drowning in CVs, paying ridiculous agency fees, and still struggling to find the right people.
What We're Building
Nurses build one profile. Employers come to them. Nurses choose what's worth their time. No more repetitive applications or chasing opportunities.
Employers get access to verified, matched nurses without the ridiculous fees or wading through hundreds of irrelevant CVs.
Why It Matters
Nurses are in demand. They have skills employers desperately need. Yet the system is backwards and treats them like they should be grateful for any opportunity.
We built Roam because we genuinely believe nurses deserve better. Better treatment, better opportunities, and a process that actually respects their time and wellbeing. Nurses shouldn't have to sacrifice their health and happiness to find a job that values them.

Former NHS doctor, now working in business, and busy toddler mum. Witnessed how the system makes nurses feel undervalued and how challenging nurse recruitment can be. Determined to fix it.
The driving force behind Roam.
Dr Connor Toorish
Co-founder
Prison GP and Mental Health Lead. Everywhere he's worked has the same story: nurse vacancies, broken recruitment. Taught himself to code and built the platform, so blame him for any bugs. Enjoys being outmanoeuvred by his 2 year old and occasionally goes to the gym.
